Bullet crack and thumps - Sound immersion updates
You all know I love to add sound to immerse the player more into the game
So after 3 days I figured out how to efficiently calculate bullet cracks ;)
I've implemented a fully functional bullet crack,thump,whizz,flyby in sourcemod
Its a fully dynamic system which changes sounds/volume based on distance.
To get a glance at what I mean, just watch this video
- 67 Bullet crack sounds. (for close range)
- 22 Thump sounds. (for close range)
- 48 flyby sounds
- 55 Bullet impact sounds
- 119 Bullet ricochet sounds
- 19 crack thump sounds (for far range)
- 8 crack thump sounds for high calibre weapons
- 2 new night vision sounds
What does this mean ? Good you ask!
Whenever someone shoots a gun in your direction you will hear the bullets whiz by, and if the velocity of the bullet is high enough to break the sound barrier you will hear the bullet breaking the soundbarrier next to you.
Bullets hitting the ground next to you will have custom sounds, and there is a little chance for the bullet to ricochet of.

Also cool to know : in total all my plugins use a whopping amount of custom sounds, 880 to be precise :)
